Lea and Donovan made it past their 27th wedding anniversary and celebrated at Buffalo Wild Wings, a place neither one of them had eaten at before. They thought it was good and Donovan even wrote a review of the place over at another site he operates, Tifton Talks.
In this episode, the couple discuss Mother’s Day and other related holidays such as Father’s Day, Sibling’s Day, etc. Lea has an interesting perspective on Mother’s Day in that it should be celebrated only once per year, but honored each time motherhood happens. Donovan doesn’t quite see it that way, but does agree that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give the mother a gift on the birthday of her child.
They discuss the origins of Mother’s Day and how, as with most holidays, it became very commercial very quickly and the originator of the holiday, Anna Jarvis, actually marched against the holiday because of that very reason.
Some side discussions concerning gifts, laziness, etc. also took place during the episode.
