Lea and Donovan take on the subject of Christmas, specifically how the holiday differed for the both of them. As Donovan states in this episode, until he and Lea got married and had kids, he’d never heard of “Santa Gifts” i.e. the gifts that mysteriously showed up under the tree on Christmas morning that were supposed left by, you guessed it, Santa Claus.
Growing up, Donovan’s family always opened their presents on Christmas Eve (at least as far back as he can remember) whereas Lea’s family did the traditional cookies and milk for Santa on Christmas Eve and then opened gifts on Christmas morning.
Further conversations in this episode cover buying gifts versus making gifts and the reactions of some people and how the holiday is now really nothing more but an example of unbridled consumerism.
Please note: As the couple states at the end of the episode, this will be the last episode of the show for 2017. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! We’ll see you in 2018!
