Donovan accompanied his wife of 27+ years, Lea, to an arts and crafts show that happens twice per year in a city called Moultrie, GA. It’s the Calico Arts and Crafts show; this was the winter show where, you guessed it, there was a lot of holiday crafts and wares being hocked for sale. This was the first time for either of them attending the show and Donovan, not being one to really dig crowds, was definitely out of his element. But, because he loves his wife and he promised her he’d attend with her, he went. Lea says he suffered well. He’s pretty sure he got the suffering part down.
All in all, the show was a let down for Lea. She likened it to a much bigger flea market with a more narrowed focus on the items that are for sale. The place, as mentioned before, was CROWDED! Donovan compared it to being in a can of sardines; and the number of husbands and kids that really didn’t want to be there – a point that the couple made — don’t carry your small kids to a venue like this! They won’t have a good time and neither will the people around you!
This episode, as the title implies, did turn into somewhat of a bitch fest. The recording of the show was delayed due to another washing machine incident, this time with a support in the washing machine breaking and thus flooding the laundry room – again.
In no specific order they talked about Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Black Wednesday (something that the company Lea works at has), why people spend so much money during the holidays on complete shit, what to do with leftovers, etc.
They hope you enjoy the episode and apologize for it being all over the place. 🙂
